HOW TO USE
PREPARATION
The best results are obtained by mixing the mastic with 2-3% catalyst (dibenzoyl peroxide), the paste version facilitates dosing. A homogeneous mix promotes uniform catalysis. The catalysis speed is influenced by the temperature and the quantity of catalyst/hardener. An excess of hardener increases the speed but weakens the “hold” of the mastic. The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry; porosity and roughness of the surfaces promote better adhesion of the mastic.
NOTE
To obtain the right shade and color of the material to be treated/glued, you can use the appropriate Base Colore coloring pastes. The colorable mastic is the straw-colored one (basic formula); you should never color the white mastic. The colorants weaken the characteristics of the mastic. The hardened mastic is perfectly workable: sandable, polishable, etc. after 2-5 hours.

ATTENTION
MKD mastic is suitable for gluing marble, stone, granite. It is therefore not suitable for gluing different materials (iron, wood, glass, etc.). Polyester adhesives, if applied to work in an external environment, may undergo variations in their hold up to breaking in the presence of strong temperature changes. In such cases it is advisable to help the gluing with fixed pins or other suitable fixing supports. The use of pins is also recommended when the mastic is subjected to the action of strong loads (false ceilings, wall coverings, etc.)
COLOR
The color tone of the mastic, when catalyzed, can undergo variations due to multiple factors: a) QUANTITY OF CATALYST USED, greater or lesser speed of catalysis. b) GREATER OR LESSER EXPOSURE TO ULTRAVIOLET RAYS, internal or external environment. c) GREATER OR LESSER AGING OF THE WORK. If the user colors the glue with his own materials, since this is beyond our control, it is difficult to predict the impact of these operations on the final quality of the work performed. However, when the shade of the glue is important, it is essential to have the preliminary approval of the client on a sample, prepared ad hoc, since in this case the aesthetic factor, which is entirely subjective, becomes of primary importance. In any case, our product must not be mixed with similar products from competitors and must be catalyzed with the catalyst supplied and not with others on the market. When the adhesive is marked with a colour such as TRAVERTINO, ROSSO VERONA, ROSA ASIAGO, GRIGIO PIETRA SERENA, BASALTINA, BOTTICINO, etc., these names are indicative of a general shade and the customer remains obliged to verify the compatibility of the adhesive in the specific case when applying it to a specific material.
ATTACHMENT
The bonding and sealing capacity of a polyester glue may vary due to multiple factors. It is therefore recommended: a) always keep the packages well sealed; b) apply the glue on surfaces that are free from dust, dry, not exposed to sources of humidity or heat, not on overheated surfaces (use of flames and high temperatures), or subject to more or less violent mechanical stress. In the presence of such circumstances it is preferable to consult the manufacturer for the appropriate tests of the case. MKD mastic must not be mixed with any similar product.
FILLING
Polyester mastic is widely used in filling cavities or cracks in marble, stone and granite floors. When filling, the following precautions must be taken: a) avoid filling widths greater than 1-1.5 cm; b) the surfaces to be filled must be clean, dust-free and completely dry.
